This was my father's high school ring and he told me about it.  He went to two different schools (Rule & Rochester, Texas), so I don't know which the ring was from, nor the exact date, but it could have been 1936, 1937 or 1938.  Shortly after he received it, he lost it while riding in an open car with friends along one of the main roads near Rule, Texas.   He was playing with it, and it slipped off his finger and out of the car.  If there are initials, they would be CDH.
